Patellar Tendinitis (Jumper's Knee)

Patellar tendinitis or Jumper’s knee occurs at the lower kneecap, or inferior patellar region.

patellar tendintis treatmentPatellar Tendinitis is common in athletes involved with sports that require jumping such at volleyball, track and field, soccer and basketball. It is also diagnosed as Osgood Schlatter disease.

It usually presents as anterior knee pain combined with inflammation in the tendon at the insertion point on the lower leg into the boney prominence below the knee cap.  Patellar tendinitis can progress as time goes on and can result in degeneration or a torn tendon.
